The Nordic Mix Mittens are warm and robust mittens in the unique Nordic Mix pattern. They are worked in Vams from Rauma and then felted. After felting, the mittens gain a soft, fuzzy texture and become extra warm and durable. The mittens are worked in the round, from cuff to tip. The pattern is worked following a diagram before the mittens are felted in the washing machine. Vams is a yarn that felts easily, especially when knit loosely with two colors. Knit the Nordic Mix Mittens in the same color as your other Nordic Mix pieces to match or in a contrast color for a cool statement.

Since felting is unpredictable, the following measurements are approximate. The felting process is described in the pattern.
Circumference before felting: 25 (28) 31 cm
Length (excl. ribbing) before felting: 21 (23) 25 cm
Circumference after felting: 18 (20) 22 cm
Length after felting: 17 (19) 21 cm
Gauge: 13 sts x 18 rows = 10 x 10 cm following the diagram using 6,5 mm needles
A swatch knitted in the round is recommended for the most accurate results. Achieving the correct gauge is crucial for the mittens to have the described measurements.
Suggested needles: Circular needles 4,5 mm (60-80 cm) & 6,5 mm (40 & 60-80 cm and double pointed needles unless you prefer using magic loop technique)
